Blumenschein, Ernest

A founder of the Taos Art Colony in Taos, New Mexico, Ernest Blumenschein became one of the Southwest's best-known painters of pueblo Indian genre.

Bodmer, Karl

Born in Reisbach, Switzerland, Karl Bodmer is best known for the watercolors he did on on a five-thousand mile trip up the Missouri River in 1833 and 1834 when he accompanied the German prince Maximilian on an exploratory trip of the Far West.

Bongart, Sergei

An award-winning artist known as a colorist, Sergei Bongart worked in a variety of media--oil, casein, watercolor, gouache and tempera--and did a variety of subjects including portraits, landscapes, still lifes and cowboys.

Borein, Edward

Born in San Leandro, California, Edward Borein became one of the most popular artists of western scene painting, equally adept at ink drawing, watercolor, and etching.

Botke, Cornelis

Cornelis Botke was primarily a landscape painter but was also known as a skilled etcher and block-printer. He was born in Leewarden, Holland in 1887 and studied there at the School of Applied Design in Haarlem.
