ARTIST WORLD RECORD

Born in Dorchester, Massachusetts, Childe Hassam became one of America's most noted Impressionist painters, but he never labelled himself in that way asserting he was more interested in the emotional content of his paintings than the technique of applying color. 

An artist whose body of work ranges from Victorian floral still lifes, to tropical salt marshes to close examinations of flowers and hummingbirds, Martin Heade is one of the better-known and more widely-traveled American artists of the 19th Century.

Harry Henry is known for his unique painting using a bright palette and defined brush stroke in a style reminiscent of pointillism. 

A centenarian, Hermann Herzog was known for his landscapes and seascapes as well as many views of Norway.  He was prominent during his lifetime, and among his collectors were Queen Victoria and Czar Alexander II.

A key member of the Taos, New Mexico Society of Artists, Victor Higgins seemed much more influenced by modernist, abstract art than the other members although much of his work seemed realistic.
