Lambert, Theodore "Ted" Roosevelt (1905-1960?).


Born in Columbus, OH on July 9, 1893, Paul Landacre,while a student at Ohio State University, contracted a streptococcus infection which left him crippled for life.  

Born in Gold Hill of Placer County, California, Lorenzo Latimer became a prolific California landscape painter and highly respected teacher. He is best known for his watercolor paintings of picturesque views of northern California including giant redwoods, Lake Tahoe and the Sierra Nevada Mountains.

Known for his dramatic landscape paintings of Alaska, Sydney Laurence was one of the first professionally trained artists to live in the Alaska Territory. His trademark subject was Mt. McKinley.

Law, Harry Victor (1868-1940?).


Part of a group of New York painters called "The Eight," Ernest Lawson was fascinated by the urban environment of early 20th-century New York and also the bucolic landscape of the Hudson River. His style was close to pure Impressionism, and many of his works focus on the influence of human beings on the landscapes, quite often with the suggestion that someone has just been a part of the scene.

A native of Naples, Italy, he became a successful commercial and fine artist, known for his monochromatic color and expressionistic methods. His early art education was in Naples.
