ARTIST WORLD RECORD

Marine painter.

Born in Rustchuk, Bulgaria on Oct. 13, 1880.

At age 13 DeRibcowski began art studies in Paris and continued in Florence and Petrogard.

After founding the Academy of Beaux-Arts in Buenos Aires in 1904, he immigrated to the U.S. in 1910.

He lived in New York until his move to Inglewood, CA in the early 1920s.

Deribcowski died in Los Angeles on Aug. 15, 1936.

Member: Newport AA. Exhibited: Petrograd, 1902 (medal); Uruguay Expo, Montevideo, 1908 (medal); Rio de Janeiro Expo, 1909 (medal); Odessa, 1909 (prize); Moscow, 1910 (prize); Sofia Nat'l Gallery, 1910 (prize).

Works held: Museum Alexander III, Petrograd; Uruguay Museum; Buenos Aires Museum; Nat'l Palace, Montevideo; Nat'l Palace, Rio de Janeiro. AAA 1920-33; Fld; WWAA 1936-41; SCA.
